How do you do it just like me?
First, you spend time late at night listening.
You listen to Podcasts from NPR, that's national public radio if you're a plebe -Which clearly you are not, noble reader.
I recommend the Writer's Almanac. That's Garrison Keillor's little 5 minute segment surrounding poetry and literary history. It's great for the super reader, who just wants to hear someone else read.
Oh, but what I really love. What I really really love is Jazz Profiles. It is solely responsible for my introductions to West Coast Jazz star, Buddy Collette, and totally smooth Guitarist Wes Montgomery. I recommend Wes' album Movin' Wes, and the track from that album, "Caravan." Sun Ra's biography was pretty captivating as well. A strange man.

Happy Birthday, Noam Chomsky, 12/7/07.
